Icon or I conned

Personally, I think that tourism will devalue heritage spots and icons. To increase the revenue that the heritage sites earn, they would have to increase the number of tourists visiting the heritage site, and in order to so, they would have to introduce world-renowned shops or restaurants such as McDonalds to attract tourists and also cater to their needs for a familiar meal if they are not used to the local dishes. These types of shops will devalue the heritage spots and icons as these shops will be built such that it would fit into the heritage spot. Therefore, areas with these shops will be modernised, devaluing heritage spots and icons, making me think that tourism will devalue heritage spots and icons.
